What is auto refinance?

Auto refinance is basically a loan which pays off your existing auto loan. The idea is very similar to mortgage refinance, however the process with RoadLoans is much simpler and much faster.

How does auto refinance work at RoadLoans?

Refinance is a very simple process with RoadLoans. Once you’re approved, you can download the necessary documents to sign. From there, RoadLoans will take care of the rest. We will work with your current lender to pay off your existing loan and receive the title to your vehicle from your old lender.

Are there any vehicle refinancing fees?

RoadLoans does not charge any fees for a traditional refinance without cash back. However, each state imposes a title transfer fee that ranges from $5 to $65 depending on the state in which you reside. This fee is charged by your state, not RoadLoans.com. We will pay this fee on your behalf and add it to your final loan amount. A fee may apply if you accept a cash back refinance offer.

What is a cash-back auto refinance?

How will I receive my cash-back money?

Your cash-back money will be automatically sent to you. The funds will be sent when your refinance loan with RoadLoans has closed.

What can I use my cash-back money for?

You can use your cash-back money as you wish. Consolidate debt and pay off higher interest obligations you may have, pay for home and auto repairs, or buy a large ticket item. Your options are limitless.

How much cash-back money can I get?

Cash-back amount eligibility depends on a combination of factors, includes the vehicle value, current balance outstanding, payment history and income.

I am a RoadLoans or Santander Consumer USA customer. Can I refinance an auto loan that is not currently serviced by Santander?

If you are an existing Santander Consumer USA customer, you may be able to refinance an auto loan that you have with another lender. However, you must have at least 6 months of good payment history on your existing Santander Consumer USA account.

How long does it take to apply?

Applying for refinancing with RoadLoans is an easy process. It should only take you a few minutes to complete the application form.

How much can I refinance?

You must refinance your entire balance (i.e. the full payoff amount) of your existing loan, subject to RoadLoans’ minimum and maximum loan amounts.

Does my vehicle qualify?

Your vehicle must be 7 years or newer, and must not have more 105,000 miles.

Will applying for refinancing lower my credit score?

Not necessarily. Most credit scores are not affected by multiple inquiries from auto or mortgage lenders within a short period of time. Typically, these are treated as a single inquiry and will have little impact on the credit score.

I just started my current auto loan - do I have to wait to refinance my car?

No. There is no minimum waiting period. You can refinance your current car loan as soon as you wish.

How much money can I save by refinancing my auto loan?

The amount you will save by car refinance can vary based on the balance of your current auto loan, how much lower your new interest rate is compared to the old one, any changes in the loan term etc. Upon approval, you will receive customized information relevant to your loan situation.

How do I apply for a cash-back refinance?

You can apply for a cash-back refinance through our regular RoadLoans application page. Simply select loan type "cash-back refinance" when you apply.

Can I refinance my existing RoadLoans auto loan?

RoadLoans only refinances auto loans that you have with other lenders, not including RoadLoans or its subsidiaries.

How is my interest rate determined?

What happens after I get approved?

You can log-in online at RoadLoans.com and select your refinance offer. After selecting your offer, simply download and complete your loan documents and send them back to RoadLoans using the pre-paid UPS shipping label.

What if I make a mistake in completing my loan documents or a pre-printed piece of information is incorrect?

Do not cross-out the mistake or use correction fluid as this will invalidate the contract. Please call as us 1-888-276-7202 during business hours:

  • Monday through Thursday between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. CST.
  • Fridays we are open until 7:00 p.m.
  • For your convenience, we are also open on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. through 12:00 p.m. CST.

How do I send documents via UPS?

There are nearly 40,000 UPS drop-off locations nationwide. You can drop-off your documents at any of them - 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can find your nearest location by visiting UPS.com/dropoff.

Can I make my payments electronically?

After your loans funds, you can pay online or sign up for our free auto-debit program. You can also pay by phone, Western Union, MoneyGram or check.

Are there any prepayment penalties if I repay my loan faster or pay it off?

RoadLoans does not charge any prepayment fees. You may pay off either a portion of your loan or the entire amount at any time without incurring any fees or penalties.

How long will it take to get my cash-back?

Your cash-back will be available once we have finalized your loan. This typically takes up to 2 weeks from the day we receive your loan packet.
